University Of The West Of Scotland Goes Live With Identity Management

First phase roll out provides the new University with common identity management system for staff and students.
The newly created University of the West of Scotland (UWS) has gone live, in the first phase, with an integrated email solution provided by Salford Software, based on a common Identity Management system. The new University is the result of a merger between the University of Paisley and Bell College. It is Scotland’s largest modern University and it will bring together over 18,000 students, including the country’s largest School of Health, Nursing and Midwifery, with almost 5,000 students.
Salford Software has deployed Novell Identity Manager to allow the integration between MS Exchange and GroupWise email, with a view in the future to providing students and staff with one single log on, without the need to remember multiple user names and passwords.
