The deployment and successful implementation of a corporate or organisational Appropriate Use Policy is a requirement of any NHS trust. Salford Software offer a version controlled system replacing the somewhat cumbersome and inefficient traditional paper based system.

Once a user accepts the policy, the acceptance date of the policy is stored in the vault and the registry, enabling the system to work on disconnected systems such as laptops.

Users who have not agreed to the current policy will be presented with the opportunity to accept the policy should they attempt to login to a computer with the client installed. Failure by the user to accept the policy will result in a warning that they are in breach of contract and that they will not be allowed access to computer systems. If at this point they continue to reject the policy, they will automatically be logged out of the system.
