In order to fulfill their role, temporary staff and contractors still need to have access to certain resources. Traditionally, non permanent users may have been granted access via a time consuming paperchase or perhaps the sharing usernames and passwords of permanent staff.
In the NHS there are a large number of users who could be categorised as non permanent staff. Bank nursing staff, contractors, junior doctors and locums.
Providing secure, personalised access to resources medical staff at an NHS trust can present a challenge. The issue of how to provision and de-provision users who are not permanent to the organisation can be a time consuming and potentially costly process if not managed well.
With large numbers of junior doctors working in hospitals for short periods of time before moving on to their next post, there is a requirement for an efficient and secure way to provision these users with access to the records, systems and resources applicable to their roles.
