Using New £20 Notes With Archer TT Kiosk

Summary

The new £20 notes introduced on the 13th March 2007 may not work in the note acceptors on Archer TT Kiosks purchased before that date.

Symptoms

The new £20 notes are always rejected by the note reader.

Solution

Download and install the updated firmware for the note acceptor:

UBA10 Upgrade Software:
ftp.salfordsoftware.co.uk/support/out/uba10/UBA_downloaderV1.zip

Firmware:
ftp.salfordsoftware.co.uk/support/out/uba10/Rom_UBA-10GBR_SCO-SS_ID-003_V145-14.zip

Download and extract UBA_downloaderV1.zip first, and run the setup.exe to install the USB drivers. Then plug printer USB cable into square USB port on blue panel on front on note acceptor (just below where notes are fed in).

Windows will detect the device and install the driver.

Then run the UBA Downloader application from the shortcut installed on the desktop. Download and extract Rom UBA-10(GBR_SCO)-SS ID-003 V145-14.zip and select the COM file to transfer to the note acceptor.
