This applies to:
Using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP and accessing Exchange 2003 SP2 with Windows 2003 SP1
When a user (user A) opens another user's (user B's) calendar, it appears to be blank. Checking the permissions on the user B calendar, user A does not appear to have any permissions.
In this case I would expect to get an error of "Unable to display folder, Calendar folder could not be found", but the calendar folder opens and appears to be empty (even though user B does have appointments at the relevant time).
At some time in the past, user A did have permissions on user B's calendar, but that these have since been removed. The problems is replicable for user A and user B, and persists even after a considerable time (several weeks at least) and on several workstations.
We were able to re-create the issue if you set the Delegate permissions (Tools > Options > Delegates) select the user and set the access to the Calendar to None but have the permissions from the Properties of the calendar set to Folder Visible (right click Calendar (from the left hand pane) > Properties > Select the permissions tab > Folder Visable check box ticked).
In this case clearing the Folder visible check box on the permissions fixed this problem.
If this does not help other things to try,
- Adding the user and re-adding access, OK'ing it. Closing Outlook.
- Re-opening Outlook, then remove all permissions and tick boxes from the users access, then OK'ing this, exiting Outlook.
- Re-opening Outlook, removing the user access by completely removing the user and exiting Outlook
