As the IT industry continues with its massive investment in virtualisation and cloud computing its apparent that vendors are now having to develop new products to meet the demand for intelligent workload management tools. Novell to their credit saw this need a while back and has stolen a bit of a march on other vendors. Novell unveiled their strategic direction a while back around development, security, systems management and business services management.

Microsoft SharePoint 2010 includes support for using feature phones to access documents, lists, calendars on SharePoint 2010, performing people and document searches and receiving SMS alerts on SharePoint content. Microsoft SharePoint Workspace Mobile 2010 allows Windows phone users to access offline documents on SharePoint 2010.

Okay let’s talk Novell, the “Big N” has been in the news recently for maybe the wrong reasons – takeover rumours ect so it’s great to talk about them positively ... I’ll be honest I like Novell and I like their products, one of their products which Salford Software have had great deal of success with is Novell’s Identity manager – a fantastic product and on par with its vendor rivals – so it was great a few weeks ago to see an overview of Identity Management 4.0
