Microsoft Office 2010 has been released to manufacturing, with the final stage of the development process meaning that the next generation of applications like Word, PowerPoint and Excel are close.
The RTM stage means that the software has been readied for its public bow, allowing computer manufacturers to prepare for launch.
 
I have blogged previously about Office 2010 and the highly antispated Office web apps. I have to say as one of the 7.5 million people involved on the beta testing of this product the changes made are impressive.

As I'm sure a lot of you are aware Google is set to roll out the next version of its popular Google Docs, this will apparently include increased collaboration meaning that 50 people can work on the same doc at once, but a lack of Gears support meaning that offline editing is disabled. The new version will not only allow more people to edit at the same time, but will also offer faster and more responsive editing.

I was at UCISA last month and one question I was asked "How scalable is Live @ Edu as I have been told that it has its limits?".....Well if this is a concern please click on the attached link below for City University New York who have deployed Live @ Edu to their 23 institutions and 260,000 students.....
